“The Great Wave off Kanagawa” is perhaps one of the most recognizable Japanese art pieces in the world. A large, turbulent wave with menacing white crests rises above sailors in long boats, framing the distant Mount Fuji in the background. “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” is the first woodblock print in the series “36 Views of Mount Fuji.”
